Moult is said to have attracted interest from Pedro Caixinha’s Rangers during the summer transfer window.
Louis Moult in action for Motherwell
Rangers are among the clubs credited with interest in the Englishman – who has scored four goals in eight outings this season – during the summer transfer window.
But Motherwell’s asking price is said to have deterred the Ibrox side from stepping up their pursuit.
Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson
Moult has since turned down a new contract at Fir Park however, and according to manager Stephen Robinson, the 25-year-old is not expected to change his mind (BBC Sport).
Should that remain the case, Moult will become a free agent next summer, allowing Rangers and others to approach him about a pre-contract agreement from the New Year.
Pedro Caixinha’s side could however be rivalled to the former Stoke City player’s signature, with The Scottish Sun also listing English sides Millwall, Brentford and Blackburn Rovers as suitors, along with Hibernian.
Alfredo Morelos in action for Rangers
Rangers spent around £2.5 million on two new strikers during the summer transfer window (Transfermarkt), although the pair, Alfred Morelos and Eduardo Herrera, have experienced contrasting fortunes so far.
