Arsenal have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has suggested to ESPN FC that Arsenal should not make a move for Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Julian Draxler on transfer deadline day.

According to The Guardian, Arsenal are interested in signing Draxler, who can also operate as a winger, from PSG.

A report in Metro has claimed that the Gunners have made contact with the French giants over the signing of the Germany international.

A report in The Times earlier this month stated that PSG want £32 million as transfer fees in order to part company with Draxler.

The report has also stated that the 23-year-old former Schalke and VfL Wolfsburg star earns around £90,000 per week at PSG.

Draxler joined Ligue 1 giants PSG from German side Wolfsburg in the January transfer window for a fee reported by The Times to be worth £35.5m.

Liverpool legend Nicol has explained why Arsenal should not make a move for Draxler on transfer deadline day.

“I think he would play, yes,” Nicol told ESPN FC when asked about Draxler potentially joining Arsenal on transfer deadline day. “Would it be a good move for him? Yes.

“I am not sure it would be a great move for Arsenal at this time. The shambles that is Arsenal, they are looking for strong characters, I am not so sure that this guy is a strong character.”
