Andre Gomes

According to The Telegraph, West Ham United have not given up hope of signing Barcelona's Andre Gomes, but Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the 24-year-old.

There is apparently "growing confidence" from Tottenham that they will sign the Portuguese midfielder on loan ahead of their fellow Londoners.

Gomes had been linked with West Ham earlier this month after starting only 17 league matches for the Catalans following his move from Valencia 12 months ago.

Spurs have already signed Serge Aurier today and a move for Fernando Llorente seems set to follow, according to BBC Sport.

Divock Origi

According to The Mirror's Transfer Blog (entry posted at 15:02), Wolfsburg are paying Liverpool £6 million to take Divock Origi on loan.

The Belgian striker has fallen out of favour under Jurgen Klopp, with Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke ahead of him in the pecking order.

As a result, he has been loaned out to the Bundesliga side, despite reported interest from Newcastle United, and Wolfsburg will pay £6 million for his temporary signing, according to The Mirror.

Tim Krul

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail's Transfer Blog (entry posted at 14:28) has claimed that Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is set to join Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on loan.

The Dutch stopper has been linked with a move away from Newcastle for most of the summer and it appears as if Rafael Benitez has sanctioned his move to the Seagulls, with Krul undergoing a medical.

Brighton, who were promoted with the Magpies last season, are only two points behind Benitez's side and strengthening a rival seems odd from United's perspective, but perhaps it illustrates just how desperate the Spanish manager is to offload the 29-year-old.

Axel Tuanzebe

Finally, Hull City in the Championship are trying to sign Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe on loan.

The Daily Mail's Transfer Blog (entry posted at 15:29) claims that the 19-year-old - who made four Premier League appearances under Jose Mourinho last season - is wanted by Hull before tonight's transfer deadline.
