Tottenham have been linked to Leicester City’s Demarai Gray.
Gray has been unhappy at a lack of action at the Foxes, where he is used mainly as a substitute.
The England under-21 international is highly rated with Leicester holding out for £30 million for a player they signed for a tenth of the price 18 months ago.
Tottenham’s bid is still short, and they now have a decision to make whether to meet Leicester’s asking price.
In Gray they would be buying a player with potential rather than one who is the finished product, and fans are split as to whether the club is better off pushing to sign Riyad Mahrez instead.
The former footballer of the year would be more expensive, but he also could make more of an instant impact for Spurs.
He is after all keeping Gray out of the Leicester side at present, with the former Birmingham youngster playing just 32 minutes of Premier League action so far this campaign.
Mahrez has looked bright, providing two assists in a match winning display over Brighton.
