Tottenham Hotspur have agreed deal to sign Juan Foyth.
Spurs have been targeting the 19-year-old defender throughout the summer, but at one point it seemed the move was dead due to the Argentinian side’s valuation of the player.
Paris Saint-Germain and Zenit Saint Petersburg are also believed to have wanted Foyth this summer, but Spurs kept their interest intact and have finally reached an agreement.
Last week Argentinian publication El Dia claimed that Foyth has chosen Spurs over PSG after Mauricio Pochettino telephoned him at least six times in a bid to convince him to move to North London this summer.
Pochettino’s glowing remarks on his ability and and he allegedly telling the centre-back how long he has been tracking his progress is believed to have swayed the teenager’s decision.
Spurs have made only two signings this summer – Paulo Gazzaniga and Davinson Sanchez – so far, but they are expected to bring in at least two new players before the transfer window closes.
