Friday's top transfer stories involving Newcastle United.
Chelsea striker Loic Remy
The French striker spent the 2013-14 season on Tyneside, scoring an impressive 14 goals in 26 Premier League appearances.
Should Remy return to Newcastle on a temporary basis, then Rafa Benitez's side would no longer be able to loan his Blues teammate Kenedy - or vice versa.
But the £12 million Chelsea signing is not the only Premier League striker on the Magpies' radar, with a late move for Leicester City's Islam Slimani being weighed up, according to The Mirror (10:32).
Leicester striker Islam Slimani
The Foxes are said to be willing to cash in on the Algerian, but only if they can 'recoup a large chunk' of the £29 million they paid for him last summer.
"It's true that we had contacts with Marseille about Dennis," he said. "He was interested. He is one of the most important players for Sampdoria, who want to keep him for the next season. They feel that this season, he will be very important. If he gets a good year, I think it will be time to go to another club."
Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet
It is claimed United see no benefit to loaning out the Serbian striker.
