Villa boss Bruce has suggested that he is short of striking options recently, and his mood will not have been helped by an injury which Scott Hogan picked up against Reading.
Hogan is now set to miss Villa’s match against Norwich City this weekend, leaving the striking place up for grabs.
And Villa fans are eager to see McCormack given a run out, rather than Agbonlahor, who has been favoured so far this season.
Given the choice of McCormack or Gabby on saturday to lead the line- would pick McCormack every single time— Dale-AVFC (@gatecrasha10) August 16, 2017
Infuriated that McCormack isn't getting a chance. Surely he's got to be a better option than Gabby or Samba up front!— AVFC (@ktvilla92) August 16, 2017
Bruce saying we need to be more clinical then goes and plays Gabby over McCormack— Adam Bevan (@Adam_Bevan_Avfc) August 16, 2017
Dunno why any fan would want gabby anywhere near the starting 11, I feel RMC has to be playing! Make use of an out and out striker PLEASE— Craig Morrish (@CraigoMorry88) August 17, 2017
@sportbbcwm if SB has given Gabby a second chance why not McCormack,we can't be any worse, double standards comes to mind— Robert Glaze (@Bobbyglaze18) August 17, 2017
McCormack was expected to leave Villa this summer, but he may still have a chance of fighting his way back into Bruce’s plans, if he is given a chance at the weekend.
Agbonlahor has actually scored this season, but he has carried a limited threat.
Bruce’s side are under huge pressure to pick up a victory against Norwich, after what has been a highly disappointing campaign to date.
Villa have failed to win any of their first three matches, leaving Bruce fighting to hold on to his job.
