Burnley are looking to sign Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris.
According to reports from The Times, Burnley are prepared to pay £15 million for Leeds United striker Chris Wood.
Leeds are determined to keep hold of their star player, and Burnley will need to submit a better offer to lure the New Zealand striker away from Elland Road.
One of them is Abdul Majeed Waris, who plays in Ligue 1 for Loreint, and the other one is Deportivo’s Florin Andone.
Burnley have made an £11.8 million bid for Andone already, but recent reports suggest that Deportivo are looking for a fee around £27.3 million.
In that case, a move for Waris makes sensesince he would come at a much reduced rate. The Ghana forward joined Lorient in 2015 and has scored 19 goals in 51 league appearances so far.
The 25-year-old has made 22 international appearances for Ghana, and is also on Sean Dyche’s list of targets. Burnley would need a work permit for Waris.
