Crystal Palace have reportedly failed with a bid for West Ham United’s Adrian.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United have rejected a £3.5million offer from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace for goalkeeper Adrian – but he wants to leave the club.
The Hammers snapped up Adrian from Real Betis in his native Spain back in the summer of 2013, and he has been a regular between the sticks over the last four years.
The 30-year-old has made almost 125 appearances for West Ham, but endured a frustrating campaign last season having lost his place to Darren Randolph for much of the season, with Bilic dropping him after a number of errors.
This summer, Bilic swooped to sign Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City, and whilst Randolph was later sold to Middlesbrough, the Daily Mail claim that Adrian still wants to leave West Ham in order to play first-team football elsewhere.
The report claims that West Ham have rejected a £3.5million offer from London rivals Crystal Palace, and it remains to be seen whether Frank de Boer’s men return with another bid for the goalkeeper before this month’s transfer deadline.
Palace do have Wayne Hennessey, but his inconsistent play, the sale of Steve Mandanda to Marseille and the advancing years of long-serving stopper Julian Speroni mean that another goalkeeper features high on De Boer’s wish list.
Adrian has emerged as a top target, but West Ham are so far standing firm on their goalkeeper in the hope that they can keep him and have him challenge Hart for a starting spot at the London Stadium this season.
Having brought in Hart already, Bilic won’t want to go back into the market to try and find another goalkeeper before the transfer deadline, but he may have to if Palace continue to pursue Adrian’s signature.
