Stoke City should add to their attacking ranks by signing Leicester’s Ahmed Musa.

Last season, Marko Arnautovic was Stoke City’s highest goalscorer, highest assist maker and also the biggest creator at the club. Now he plays for West Ham.

Their second highest goalscorer last season was Peter Crouch, who incidentally is 36-years-old.

The potters also sold Jon Walters to Burnley, leaving Peter Crouch, Saido Berahindo and Mame Biram Diouf as the only recognised centre forwards in the team. It is worth noting that Saido Berahino started 11 games in the Premier League last season, and he had 0 goals and 0 assists to his name.

With the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho, Leicester City have Jamie Vardy, Islam Slimani, Shinji Okazaki, Leonardo Ulloa besides Ahmed Musa in the squad. It is safe to say that the Nigerian international is not first choice at the King Power Stadium.

The former CSKA Moscow player has attracted attention from a host of clubs, especially from Turkey, but his agent admitted to the Leicester Mercury that he would prefer to remain in England.

Given the 24-year-old’s pace and industry, and his exploits in the Russian League (13 goals and 5 assists in 2015-16), he could be worth a punt for Mark Hughes. Especially, if Leicester are willing to loan out the centre-forward.

Last season, he scored 2 goals in 7 starts in the Premier League, but it is worth noting he hardly played in his favoured centre-forward role will Jamie Vardy in front of him. If he gets a run of games as a Number 9, with the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Bojan Krkić supplying balls to him he could prove to be a real important buy for the Potters.
