Nigel Farage on EU's Juncker's €63,000 flying expenses

The former UKIP leader took to Twitter to have a go at the EU Commission’s president over ridiculously expensive flights.

Euronews reported that President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker had hired a private plane to fly to Turkey. The air taxi hire cost a whopping 63,000 euros, the expenses form for which can be accessed here.

Taking to Twitter, the ex-UKIP leader Nigel Farage had a go at the president by saying “That was just the bar tab.”

His dig appears to point to the past allegations that Juncker has been publicly drunk, with Channel 4 reporting one possible incident from 2007. The Telegraph has reported on the subject more recently.

Nigel Farage may no longer be in the political spotlight, but he is certainly continuing to attack the EU when he can.

The party is in the process of choosing a new leader after Paul Nutall led UKIP to win just 1.8% of the vote in June.

According to UKIP, nominations closed on Friday 28th July with the winner set to be announced at the end of September.
