Rio Ferdinand has expressed his delight about West Ham United signing Javier Hernandez.
Ferdinand, who developed as a youngster at West Ham, played with Hernandez at Manchester United.
And the former England international defender is ecstatic to see Hernandez back in the Premier League.
West Ham’s signing of Hernandez has captured the imagination of the London Stadium crowd, and there is a hope that he could be a prolific scorer for Slaven Bilic’s side.
Hernandez was always clinical during his first spell in English football with Manchester United, and he has continued to score regularly for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany more recently.
Hernandez is expected to have a key role at West Ham in the upcoming campaign, as he will be their main striking hope.
Hernandez is West Ham’s fourth signing of an impressive summer, following the arrivals of Marko Arnautovic, Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart.
The Mexican international will be in competition with the likes of Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll for a place in Bilic’s starting line-up.
