West Ham United are closing in on one of the most exciting signings of the summer.

West Ham United fans should be getting very excited now, after imminent new signing Javier Hernandez was photographed arriving at Heathrow ahead of his summer switch to the London Stadium.

The Mexican international looks set to become the latest big-name player to join the Hammers, hot on the heels of goalkeeper Joe Hart, who arrived initially on loan from Manchester City earlier this month.

West Ham fans had been getting nervous after watching many of their Premier League rivals digging deep only for the Hammers’ hierarchy to fall short in that regard. But a deal to bring Hernandez back to England has changed things considerably.

The 29-year-old is still remembered with fondness among Manchester United fans who never wanted to see him leave and now Hernandez has the chance to prove he can still do it in England, this time with West Ham.

As reported by the Sun, West Ham will pay Bayer Leverkusen £16million for the striker, and if he plays to his full potential that will be a bargain in today’s inflated transfer market.

Hernandez scored 39 goals in 76 matches for the Bundesliga club and previously found the net 59 times in 158 matches for United – not bad for a player who struggled for starts for much of his time at Old Trafford.
