Newcastle United only need to look to Liverpool to see how tough signing Red Bull Leipzig’s players could be this summer.

Newcastle United are chasing Red Bull Leipzig’s Peter Gulacsi according to ESPN, but Rafael Benitez’s side are unlikely to get the goalkeeper easily.

Gulacsi played a key role for Leipzig last season, as the German side put together an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga.

And Leipzig’s desire to keep hold of key stars, has already been shown this summer.

The German side’s success has attracted attention towards a lot of their key stars, but Liverpool have seen Leipzig’s determination to keep their squad together first hand.

Liverpool have had mega money bids for Naby Keita turned down already this summer, the Telegraph report.

And Liverpool’s struggles could suggest that Newcastle also face a fight if they are to land Gulacsi.

Gulacsi, of course, wasn’t as vital a player as Keita was for Leipzig – but he was still a key first-teamer and someone which Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side will be wanting to keep hold of.

And Newcastle may have to offer big money, if they are to stand a chance of bringing Gulacsi to St. James’ Park.
