Vassell impressed in his debut season at Luton last term helping the club reach the League Two play-off semi-finals.
The 23-year-old scored 14 goals for Luton last season after joining on a free transfer from Truro last summer.
Vassell was rewarded with a new contract by Luton last December as reward for his progress at Kenilworth Road.

A number of clubs higher up the football pyramid have been alerted to Vassell's talents following his exploits for Luton last season.
Several of Vassell's suitors have been weighing up offers for the former Plymouth Argyle man and Bristol City have firmed up their interest with a bid.
Luton have rejected the bid out of hand as Nathan Jones wants to keep hold of his best players as he looks to build a side capable of going one better next season and winning promotion from League Two.
It remains to be seen if Bristol City boss Lee Johnson will come back with another bid for Vassell as he looks to bolster his attacking options at Ashton Gate.
