Dominic Solanke scored his first goal for Liverpool against Crystal Palace, and fans did their bit to remind everyone he just cost £3 million.

Dominic Solanke opened the scoring for Liverpool against Premier League side Crystal Palace after coming on as a second half substitute for the Reds. The Merseyside giants won the game by 2-0 after fellow striker Divock Origi doubled the score, finishing from close range after a deflected shot from Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – Premier League Asia Trophy

Liverpool looked the better of the two sides throughout the game with Crystal Palace electing to sit back and soak up the pressure. The London club elected to play with a back 3, a formation clearly unfamiliar to the players.

Jordan Henderson and Mohammed Salah were the standout players for Liverpool in the first half but the 5-time European Champions failed to make clear cut opportunities. Liverpool changed almost their entire lineup just after the half time whistle, and with the Eagles evidently tiring, Dominic Solanke took the opportunity to fire clinically into the bottom corner.

The strike showed exactly why the England U-20 international is so highly rated; he picked up the ball at the edge of the box and without looking at the goal unleashed a low strike into the side netting.

Liverpool fans understandably were excited with the young prospect. Here is the best of Twitter on Dom Solanke
