Norwich’s Josh Murphy and Bristol City’s Joe Bryan in action

Bristol City have rejected enquiries from Leeds, Middlesbrough and Hull for left-back Joe Bryan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Bryan is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the Championship after catching the eye at Bristol City.

The 23-year-old has come through the ranks at Bristol City has racked up nearly 200 first-team appearances since making his debut in 2012.

Bryan has played at left back, left wing back and even on the left of midfield during his time in the Bristol City side and his versatility makes him an attractive proposition to his suitors.

Leeds are in the market for a new left-back following Charlie Taylor’s departure to Burnley and they have been keeping tabs on Bryan.

Hull are also looking to bolster their left-back option amid speculation linking Andy Robertson with a move to Liverpool, while new Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk has made a new left-back one of his top priorities in this summer’s transfer window.

Bristol City are keen to keep hold of Bryan as they plan for next season and they have rebuffed the enquiries from their Championship rivals for the defender.

It remains to be seen if Bryan’s suitors will firm up their interest in the player by making a bid as they look to test Bristol City’s resolve to keep hold of him.
