Arsenal overcame their latest pre-season opponents with ease this weekend.

While pre-season is a time for Arsenal’s first-team stars to get match-fit ahead of the huge campaign to come, it also gives some of the Gunners’ next generation the perfect chance to impress alongside their more illustrious teammates.

One such player is 19-year-old Krystian Bielik, who arrived at Arsenal from Legia Warsaw as a 17-year-old and has had to wait patiently for his chances to impress, as he has developed his game with the Gunners’ under-18, under-19 and under-23 sides.

On Saturday, the 19-year-old Pole came off the bench with a third of the game remaining against Western Sydney Wanderers and he did not look out of place, replacing Mohamed Elneny and showing the composure needed to ultimately excel at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have a number of exciting teenagers coming through the ranks but a few are clearly a cut above, including the talented defender-cum-midfielder.

As reported by the BBC at the time, Arsenal payed a relatively hefty £2.4million for Bielik when he had featured only six times for Legia Warsaw and fans who saw his early performances at youth level knew they had a gem on their hands.
