Newcastle United are “expected” to bid again for the Norwich City winger.

Jacob Murphy has informed Norwich City of his desire to join Newcastle United, The Chronicle reports.

Newcastle, it is claimed, have already had a bid turned down for the Canaries winger, and are expected to return with a fresh offer.

And Murphy, who is bizarrely said to be a Magpies supporter despite growing up in north London, has reportedly rejected an approach from Crystal Palace in the hope of a move to his boyhood heroes.

The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign for his current employers, scoring nine goals and creating six in 37 games last time out.

Nevertheless, with his twin brother Josh also well ingrained in Norwich’s first team, many Canaries fans appear to be on board with Murphy’s proposed sale to Newcastle United.
