West Ham United were said to be close to signing the £8.5 million man, for whom Newcastle United are now being linked with a move.

West Ham United have been strongly linked with a move for Osmanlispor midfielder Badou N’Diaye over the past few weeks.

The Mirror reported on Sunday that the Hammers were closing in on the 26-year-old’s signing, though they could now have competition from Newcastle United.

According to Sky Sports, both clubs are interested in bringing N’Diaye to the Premier League, and Osmanlispor say they have agreed a deal in principle with an English club.

N’Diaye has scored 18 goals in 75 games for the Turkish side – a tally which will surely appeal to Slaven Bilic and Rafa Benitez, the respective West Ham and Newcastle bosses.

West Ham averaged little over a goal per game in the league last season, while no Newcastle midfielder other than Matt Ritchie managed to score more than five goals in the second tier.

N’Diaye, who has eight international caps for Senegal, was previously linked with moves to Crystal Palace and Everton [Daily Mail].

Should N’Diaye choose West Ham United or Newcastle United this summer?
