As well as wanting to add another midfielder, the club should should be looking to add another winger, a goalkeeper and a striker before the season begins.

It has been a frustrating off-season for Newcastle so far, and fans will not want them to waste too much more time and risk missing out on another target, but the club are keen to assess whether indeed Samaris should be a priority before committing a big fee.
