Middlesbrough have had a bid turned down for Derby County defender Cyrus Christie, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Derby are willing to listen to offers for Christie after bringing in Andre Wisdom from Liverpool earlier this summer to play at right-back.
Christie, who is entering the final year of his contract at the iPro Stadium, has been first-choice right-back at Derby since his arrival from Coventry City in the summer of 2014.

The Republic of Ireland international made 30 appearances in all competitions last season for Derby, but Rams boss Gary Rowett is ready to let him leave for the right offer.
The news of Christie’s availability has alerted a number of clubs with the likes of Brighton and Reading linked with the attacking full-back.
However, Middlesbrough were hoping to steal a march on their rivals by firming up their interest with an initial bid which has been rejected by Derby.
Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk is looking to bring in a new right-back this summer and it remains to be seen if he will come back with a new bid for Christie.
