Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Joe Mason is a target for Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers this summer, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Mason’s future along with a number of other players’ at Wolves is up in the air due to the arrival of plenty of fresh faces under new coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Mason, who joined Wolves from Cardiff in January 2016, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the side since moving to Molineux.

The 26-year-old saw his progress interrupted by injuries last time out, as he missed three months of the campaign before returning for the final four weeks of the season.

Mason has scored just seven goals in 37 appearances for Wolves, but the powerful striker has proved in the past he can score in the Championship after scoring for Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers in the second tier.

Nottingham Forest and QPR are both looking to bolster their respective attacking options next season and they are monitoring Mason’s situation at Wolves.

Forest and QPR both struggled for goals last season as they both narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship and they are ready to test Wolves’ resolve to hang on to Mason.
