The legendary striker put his Liverpool loyalties to one side and praised Everton’s business this summer.

Writing in The Mirror, Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler has claimed that Everton’s would-be purchase of Sandro Ramirez and Michael Keane will be ‘steals’ for the club.

Former Barcelona man Sandro is poised to wrap up a £5.2 million switch to Goodison Park after helping Spain Under-21s to the final of Euro 2017 this summer, The Mirror reported.

Meanwhile, Everton, who have already spent over £60 million on signing Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen and Henry Onyekuru, are also expected to tie up a £31 million deal for Burnley centre-back Michael Keane shortly, according to The Telegraph.

In the current market, centre-backs aren’t going cheap. Hull City received £20 million for Harry Maguire, while Southampton are demanding a reported £60 million for Virgil Van Dijk.

With that in mind, Fowler, who spent a total of 19 years at Everton’s local rivals Liverpool, believes that 24-year-old Keane’s price tag will look like good value.

“You look at Everton and they have signed Sandro Ramirez for £5m. That will look a steal for a young striker who has been the star of the Under-21 Euros,” he wrote in The Sunday Mirror.

“You could probably say the same about Michael Keane because, if someone pays the £70m Southampton want for Virgil van Dijk, then it will make the Burnley lad’s fee look like value.

“I know Everton fans probably won’t accept praise from me, but fair play to them, I have to hold my hands up and say they have done well.

“They will have signed five new players before they report back for training – and that is impressive work for anyone.”
