The talented German would be a superb addition to the Everton squad.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already been extremely active during this summer's transfer window, having spent close to £50 million on acquiring the services of both Davy Klaassen and Jordan Pickford.

The Dutchman has also made an offer for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, thought to be in the region of £20 million, according to the Sun.

If Everton manage to bring the Frenchman to Goodison Park, Koeman would have a seriously strong squad at his disposal, but there is one more signing he could make that would turn his side into genuine challengers for a place inside the top four, and maybe even more.

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich is one of the most highly-regarded youngsters on the continent, and the Blues should make an ambitious move for the German.

The 22-year-old is as versatile as they come, and is accomplished at playing in the right-back, centre-back, central midfield and right midfield positions.

Everything about him oozes class, with his ability on the ball second-to-none and his exceptional range of passing and vision. He is cool and composed when in possession, and plays with a certain kind of maturity that defies his tender years.

Having been around a Bayern squad full of serial winners for the past two years, the German will have garnered an elitist mentality, where only winning is acceptable, and that could prove to be a huge asset to the Toffees squad.

With such a physically punishing Premier League and European campaign ahead of the Merseyside outfit, having a player of such high quality and versatility amongst their squad could prove to be priceless.

He is still under contract at the Allianz Arena for another three years, however, so he will certainly not come cheap, but with Everton's newly-found financial muscle following Farhad Moshiri's partial takeover in February, they should easily be able to come up with a package that would tempt the Bavarians into selling.

And if Koeman manages to bring Kimmich to Goodison this summer, what a truly magnificent signing it could turn out to be.
