Paris St Germain star Sirigu's surprise move could clear path for West Ham in Joe Hart pursuit

West Ham United's interest in Manchester City outcast Joe Hart could have been given a boost by a shock exit from Paris St Germain.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with Hart - as reported by the likes of Sky Sports - and former Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy.

Pep Guardiola recently confirmed Hart has no future at the club, underlined by his decision to shell out a world record fee to bring Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson to the Etihad.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is at something of a crossroads when it comes to goalkeepers.

While Darren Randolph and Adrian are solid enough goalkeepers, neither have covered themselves in glory this season and face uncertain futures.

Hart spent last season on loan at Serie A side Torino, where he started off well but went on to make a number of costly errors.

And back in April the Turin side's head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic said the England number one wanted to stay with the Italian club - on loan - for another season, as reported by Sky Sports.

So Bilic will have been boosted this week after Torino sealed the somewhat surprise free transfer of Italian international Salvatore Sirigu from Paris St Germain, as reported by L'Equipe.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper endured a torrid campaign last season that included failed loan spells at Sevilla and Osasuna.

But he goes to Torino as the new number one which surely clears the path for West Ham to firm up their interest in Hart, who himself appears to be running out of options following Everton's record £30 million signing of his England teammate Jordan Pickford from Sunderland.
