Raphael Spiegel has left West Ham United to join Boavista in the summer transfer window.

Raphael Spiegel has taken to social networking site Twitter to send an emotional message to West Ham United.

Spiegel has left Premier League club West Ham to join Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit Boavista.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper joined the Hammers from Grasshooper Club Zurich in the summer of 2012 on a three-year contract with the option of a further year, as reported by The Daily Mail at the time.

The Swiss goalkeeper failed to make an impact at the London club and has three different loan spells during his time at West Ham.

Spiegel played on loan at Crawley Town, Barnet and Carlisle United while he was on the books of the Hammers.

The goalkeeper has joined Boavista, and he has sent an emotional message on Twitter to everyone at West Ham.

Spiegel failed to make a single appearance in the Premier League for West Ham, but the goalkeeper will be hoping to feature regularly for Boavista next season.

Boavista finished ninth in the Portuguese Primeira Liga during the 2016-17 campaign.
