Newcastle United have developed an interest in the Hull City man.

Scotland's Andrew Robertson in action

According to The Hull Daily Mail, Newcastle United have joined the race to sign Andy Robertson, whom Hull City value at around £8 million.

It seems like Newcastle are in the market for a left-back this summer as Paul Dummett and Achraf Lazaar represent their only options for that role.

Plenty of names have been linked – including Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs at £15 million, according to The Chronicle – but the Hull Daily Mail claim that Rafael Benitez is also interested in the prospect of bringing the 23-year-old to St James’s Park this summer.

Hull’s relegation into the Championship means it could be very hard for the Tigers to keep him, having been given a taste of Premier League football now.

The report also claims that Robertson will not rush a decision on his future as he looks to secure the “perfect move” this summer.

Burnley and Liverpool have been linked, with Clarets boss Sean Dyche offering £10 million (via The Lancashire Telegraph) for him back in January so he might well renew his interest.

Hull signed the Scotland international from Dundee three years ago.
