Arsenal may have signed impressive left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer this summer, but Gunners fans would be forgiven for casting admiring glances at Goodison Park, where Everton have already signed Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen and look set to add Sandro Ramirez to their roster sooner rather than later (as reported by the Daily Mail).
All three players would be great additions for Arsenal, but instead they will be playing for Everton next season, and if the Toffees add a couple more quality players to their squad they could well finish above Arsene Wenger's side in the league.
Arsenal supporters will, understandably, disagree, but the simple fact is Everton are moving swift and smart to snap up young, talented players with the ability to make an immediate impact in the top flight.
Klaassen scored 20 goals and provided 12 assists from midfield for last season's Europa League finalists, and at 24 he is yet to reach his peak.
Pickford is arguably the best young goalkeeper in the country and Sandro has the ability to score for fun in England, especially when you consider he averaged a goal every other game for Malaga last season and is still only 21.
Davy Klaassen could take Everton by storm next season
Arsenal may ultimately make the signings that propel them back into the top four in 2018, but Everton are not standing still and they have the money to back up their aspirations.
A lot of football will be played next season and Arsenal currently have the advantage. However Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has Wenger's side in his sights, and he is building a squad capable of overtaking them for more than just a single season.
