The England international was a massive hit under Mauricio Pochettino's management.

Kevin Wimmer is being heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer. The Austrian international has fallen way out of contention at the club, with the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and even Cameron Carter-Vickers ahead of him in the pecking order.
According to a report from The Sun the asking price for Wimmer stands at £20 million, a fee Southampton will not pay.
So should Spurs be cheeky, and take a punt on a down-on-his-luck former Mauricio Pochettino favourite?

Injury has since dampened his progress and now Southampton are said keen on his potential exit. Spurs should ask Southampton to make the difference up in the asking price, by throwing J-Rod into the deal.

Spurs need more wide and central striking options, Rodriguez offers both and he would be a free roll of the dice. If he is a hit, then Spurs have pulled off an absolute masterpiece. If not, nobody expected any different and Rodriguez moves on.
Pochettino got the best out of Rodriguez once so why not have a stab at doing it yet again.
