Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Celtic goalkeeper Aidan McAdams in a rare move between the two Old Firm rivals, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

McAdams has come through the ranks at Celtic and has played at all youth levels up to the club’s Under-20s.

The talented shot-stopper has also represented Scotland at youth level in the Victory Shield and also at the Under-17s European Championship finals in Azerbaijan last summer.

The 18-year-old is highly-regarded at Celtic Park, but he has been unable to break into the first-team and he has decided to move on to continue his career.

A number of clubs in England have been keeping tabs on McAdams’ situation at Celtic, but Rangers have moved quickly to agree a deal to bring him across Glasgow.

McAdams has already passed a medical and agreed personal terms to make the switch from Parkhead to Ibrox.

The news will come as a blow to Celtic to lose the talented teenager to their bitter rivals with McAdams keen to push for a first-team spot at Rangers in the near future.
