Brighton and Hove Albion and Burnley have become contenders to sign Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor according to a bookmaker, while West Bromwich Albion have reportedly cooled their interest.

Bookmaker Sky Bet have listed Brighton and Burnley as contenders to sign Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor this summer – though West Brom remain the favourites to land the left-back despite the fact that the Express and Star believes that the Baggies have cooled their interest.

Taylor appears set to leave Elland Road during the coming weeks with his contract with the Whites set to expire, and it had appeared for a long time that he would be Hawthorns bound.

However, the Express and Star is now suggesting that Tony Pulis has now cooled the interest in the 23-year-old and is now prioritising strengthening other areas of the squad despite the fact that terms with the defender had been close to being agreed.

Sky Bet believe that a move to West Brom is still the most likely outcome, listing the Baggies as the 5/6 favourites to sign Taylor, but their odds also suggest that two of their Premier League rivals are right in the mix.

Burnley have been listed as 7/2 contenders for the full-back, while recently promoted Brighton are the second favourites behind West Brom at 5/2.

Staying with Leeds – who have offered Taylor a two-year deal, possibly to boost the amount of compensation they receive if he does leave (via Express and Star) – remains an unlikely outcome despite West Brom’s interest cooling with Sky Bet suggesting that there is a 12/1 chance that Taylor will stay put.
