Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk is keen to bring Everton’s Aiden McGeady to the Riverside Stadium.

According to a report in the Irish Independent, Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk is looking to make Aiden McGeady his first signing at the Riverside Stadium.
McGeady has been put up for sale by Everton, who are keen to cash in on the Republic of Ireland international.
The 31-year-old has impressed at Championship level, during a loan spell with Preston North End.

And although the Lilywhites want to snap him up on a permanent basis, Boro are hoping to tempt him to the North East.
McGeady is on a big contract at Everton, but he has previously expressed a willingness to take a pay cut.
And Boro have the finances required to make him an attractive offer to join Monk’s side.

Boro are among the favourites to be promoted from the Championship next term, and McGeady’s arrival would strengthen their attacking options considerably.
McGeady scored eight times and claimed nine assists for Preston over the past campaign.
