Wolverhampton Wanderers have been listed as the second favourites to sign Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga this summer by one bookmaker.

Wolves have been listed as the 6/1 second favourites to sign Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga this summer with bookmaker Sky Bet.
Assombalonga boasts an incredibly impressive strike-rate from his time at the City Ground, with 30 goals coming in 65 Championship games for Forest. However, he has been desperately unlucky with injury during that time, missing almost all of the 2015/16 season.
Forest are closing in on a deal to sign Jason Cummings from Hibernian (via Daily Record), while Sky Sports’ live transfer feed (June 12th 2017; 10:23am) suggested that Garry Monk was interested in making Assombalonga his first signing since taking the Middlesbrough job, so it appears that the former Peterborough striker’s future could well be up in the air.
Sky Bet have, unsurprisingly, listed Boro as the 2/1 favourites for the 24-year-old’s signature, but interestingly feel that Wolves cannot be ruled out of the running, posting odds of 6/1 on Nuno Espirito Santo’s team being able to capture Assombalonga.

Wolves endured a difficult season last time out, finishing 15th in the table, with none of their strikers really boasting a noteworthy tally of goals from the campaign, so a player of Assombalonga’s calibre would surely be a welcome addition.
But with the forward scoring 14 times in the league during the past campaign, it would appear – if the bookies are correct and they are interested – that they are going to have to offer a seriously significant amount of money if want to pull off a deal.
