Newcastle United are one of the Premier League sides who are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker this summer.
Lewis Baker is being targeted by a number of Premier League sides, including Newcastle
A report in The Sun has suggested that Newcastle are one of the handful of Premier League sides who are considering making a move for Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker this summer.
Baker has only made one appearances for the Blues’ first-team in all competitions, instead spending much of his career out on loan, most recently spending two years with Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem.

And it appears that his time in the Netherlands has certainly attracted plenty of attention, with Baker bagging 10 goals in 33 top flight games during this past campaign.
The Sun reports that Newcastle – who are gearing up for a return to the top flight after clinching the Championship title – are interested in the 22-year-old, while Bournemouth and Swansea are also keen on the midfielder.
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is one of the managers keen on a deal
The Sun has suggested that it has not been decided whether he will be available this summer. But that is hardly likely to deter the Magpies if Rafa Benitez is confident that he can make the kind of impact he made with Vitesse this past season.
Newcastle had no problem finding the back of the net last season, with 15 different scorers helping them to the second tier title, but Benitez will know that it will not be so easy during the next campaign, so Baker’s presence following his brilliant spell in the Dutch top flight may certainly aid their chances of making a successful return to the highest level if they could complete a move.
