Less than a month after making his first team debut for Tottenham Hotspur, Filip Lesniak has been released by the club.
Spurs confirmed the news, along with several other departures from their academy squad.
Lesniak’s release is a little surprising considering his recent progression.
The 21-year-old even provided an assist on his debut against Leicester, setting up Harry Kane for one of his five goals in the victory.

At this stage of his career he needs to play regularly, and his release may be an acknowledgement of that, with Tottenham letting him go as they simply were not able to offer it.
The versatile midfielder has a chance now to go on and prove the club wrong in not giving him further opportunities.
