Newcastle United are expected to be extremely busy during this summer's transfer window.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez will be looking to add some genuine quality to his squad this summer, and will surely attempt to strengthen his forward options.

Newcastle enjoyed a successful Championship campaign last season, but undoubtedly need to add more quality in forward areas, if they are to avoid relegation from the Premier League next term.

With this in mind, an interesting option for the Toon, albeit an extremely ambitious one, would be a loan move for Real Madrid's Marco Asensio.

The 21-year-old has been a revelation for Los Blancos this term, and has showcased his frighteningly impressive talent when given the opportunity to shine for Zinedine Zidane's side, scoring 10 goals in 36 outings, with 19 of those appearances coming from the bench.

The problem for the young Spaniard is that competition for places in attacking areas at the Bernabeu is fierce to say the least, so his progression may be hampered next season, if he fails to play regularly.

And a loan move to St James' Park might just be the ideal solution for all parties involved. Asensio would offer Newcastle an entirely different threat in forward areas, with his penchant for making penetrating runs in behind opposition defenders, and his clinical nature in front of goal.

A run of sustained games in the Premier League would also help the Spain international improve the physical side of his game, which would, in turn, lead to him becoming a better all-round player.

Madrid would also benefit from the deal, with one of their prized young assets gaining experience of playing in arguably the most competitive league in the world.

The 21-year-old striker proved that he is good enough to play on the world stage with goals against Bayern Munich and Juventus in the Champions League quarter final and final respectively.

It would be an extremely bold move from Rafa, but one that a manager of his ilk and reputation could viably pull off, and if he manages to bring Asensio to Tyneside, Newcastle will stand a great chance of finishing inside the top half of the Premier League table next term.
