HITC Sport understands Preston are poised to sign Irish star.
Preston North End have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated Cork City forward Sean Maguire, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Maguire has impressed at Cork during the last two seasons and his performances have brought him to the attention of several clubs in England.
Maguire scored 29 goals across all competitions for Cork last season and he has netted 19 goals in 23 games so far this season to help Cork to the top of Airtricity Premier Division.
The talented forward has been tipped to win a call-up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad after netting a hat-trick against Dundalk on Friday in front of Martin O'Neill.
The 23-year-old won a move to West Ham United in 2013 after impressing at Waterford United, but he left after two years after failing to break into the first-team at West Ham.

Maguire returned to Ireland with Dundalk, but after he short spell he moved to Cork City and he has got his career back on track.
Preston have watched Maguire on a number of occasions this season and they have now decided to make a move for the versatile attacker.
Preston have enjoyed success signing players from the Republic of Ireland having brought in Andy Boyle and Daryl Horgan from Dundalk last January and they see Maguire as the next one who will provide a valuable addition to their plans.
