Roma have reportedly rejected Liverpool’s £30m bid for Mohamed Salah.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma have rejected a bid of around €34million from Liverpool for star winger Mohamed Salah.

Salah, 24, made his name with Basel following a 2012 move from El Mokawloon in his native Egypt, notching 20 goals in 79 games to earn a January 2014 switch to Chelsea.

The wide man struggled to make an impact with the Blues though, and after a successful loan spell with Fiorentina, he headed to Roma in 2015.

After 15 goals in 42 games on loan with Roma, Salah penned a permanent deal at the Stadio Olimpico in 2016 – and his 19 goals this past season appear to have generated major interest.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports this evening that Roma have received an offer of around €34million (£30million) from Liverpool for Salah, but they have swiftly rejected that bit.

The Reds are in the market for another winger having been caught short when Sadio Mane suffered a season-ending injury in April, but they also missed him when he went to the Africa Cup of Nations – and Salah’s position with the Egyptian national team would not help that situation.

A speedy right-sided winger with a superb left foot, Salah could bring real quality to the Liverpool side, giving Jurgen Klopp another attacking option, whilst the move would also give Salah another chance at Premier League success.

So far though, Liverpool are believed to have failed with their attempts to sign Salah – and it remains to be seen whether they attempt a new bid this summer.
