Chelsea missed out on the chance to seal a famous double as they lost to Arsenal this weekend.

Arsenal were not given much hope of beating Premier League champions Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, so their 2-1 win would have been even sweeter,.

The Gunners were worthy winners courtesy of goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey, with Diego Costa’s 76th-minute equaliser proving to be a mere consolation strike.

The Blues also saw Victor Moses sent off for a foolish dive in the opponents’ penalty box, and while Chelsea briefly rallied with 10 men, Welsh international Ramsey proved to be the hero.

Moses understandably bore the brunt of Chelsea fans’ criticism  after the final whistle, but the Nigeria international was not the only member of Antonio Conte’s side to disappoint.

Thomas Tuchel's 7 Best Signings of All Time

When Nemanja Matic first returned to Stamford Bridge having been prematurely sold he looked every inch the missing piece of their squad, but more recently he has struggled to replicate his best form.

The 28-year-old has played 40 times this season, scoring two goals and providing nine assists in the process. However, after failing to stamp his authority on the match against Arsenal before his removal on the hour-mark, it will be interesting to see if he is a regular starter next season.

After the final we took to Twitter to see what Chelsea fans thought of Matic’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
