Crystal Palace have earmarked Burnley boss Sean Dyche as a potential target as they look to replace Sam Allardyce.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is a target for Crystal Palace
A report from the Daily Mirror has suggested that Crystal Palace are considering targeting Burnley boss Sean Dyche as they begin their search for Sam Allardyce’s successor.
Allardyce stunned the football world somewhat by announcing that he was standing down at Selhurst Park after guiding the Eagles to safety. But Palace have taken little time to start identifying potential replacements for Big Sam.
Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce surprised many by leaving Selhurst Park
The Mirror reports that Dyche is being looked at, as is Hull boss Marco Silva – though Palace are not optimistic about their chances of landing the latter with a move to Portugal seemingly on the cards following the Tigers’ relegation from the Premier League.
Without question, Dyche has done a remarkable job at Turf Moor. In a matter of years, he has overseen gradual progress with the Clarets that has seen Burnley move from a mid-table Championship outfit to a team about to enjoy its second successive year in the top flight having secured a safe bottom-half finish this past term.
Dyche has worked wonders with the Clarets
The Mirror reports that Palace are hoping that the lure of returning south will be enough to tempt former Watford boss Dyche into considering making the switch, while it would surely not be out of the question to assume that he may have more funds to work with at Palace than if he stayed at Burnley if the last few windows are anything to go by.
But with Dyche continuing to make progress with the Clarets, it would not be a surprise if it took a brilliant offer to convince the 45-year-old to consider making the move.
Would it be a surprise if Dyche swapped Turf Moor for Selhurst Park?
