HITC Sport takes a look at three potential summer transfer targets for Hull City, including a Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder.
Hull City fans
It's been a miserable old season for Hull City supporters. After starting the season managerless, the Tigers have been fighting somewhat of an uphill battle since the first week, and despite the best efforts of Marco Silva, the club have now been relegated to the Championship.
With plenty of big wage players on board, the Tigers will likely be facing a summer re-shuffle, and could see a great number of ins and outs, as the side look to immediately bounce back to the Premier League.
So which players might Hull City look to bring in this summer? It's likely that the club will need to sort out their current manager situation before targets can be agreed upon. However, HITC Sport has taken a look at three released players who could come in and make a difference for the Tigers.
James Henry (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder James Henry
Joining the club from Millwall in 2014, Wolverhampton Wanderers winger James Henry is available on a free transfer after being released by the club. Making 86 appearances for the club, Henry fell out of favour under the new management set-up at Wolves, and was loaned out to Bolton Wanderers this season. Able to play as both a winger and a wing-back, Henry would offer something to Hull City's tried-and-tested 3-5-2 formation, which they utilised in their promotion season back in 2016.
Youssouf Mulumbu (Norwich City)

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder joined Norwich City in 2015 from West Bromwich Albion, but has been released this summer as part of the Canaries' overhaul of their playing squad. The club have massively underachieved this season, and sought to move on a number of well-paid players. Able to offer a side some bite and power in the centre of the park, Mulumbu could well offer Hull City some much needed steeliness in their midfield.
Marley Watkins (Barnsley)
Barnsley's Marley Watkins
The highly-rated winger has been subject to a lot of Championship interest already, according to a report from the Daily Mail, but could be interested in a move to Hull City if the Tigers were to show an interest. The English midfielder has played a major part in Barnsley's immensely successful season this year under manager, Paul Heckingbottom, and joins a long list of highly-rated Barnsley players to leave the Tykes this season, including Sam Winnall, Conour Hourihane and James Bree.
