Barnsley winger Marley Watkins
Norwich City are leading the race to sign Barnsley winger Marley Watkins this summer, reports the Eastern Daily Press.
The 26-year-old impressed with 10 goals and nine assists in his debut Championship campaign, but will leave Oakwell for nothing having reached the end of his contract.
Watkins isn't the only bargain Norwich could pick up this summer however, with the following Barnsley. Everton and Nottingham Forest players also worth a look according to us at HITC:
Daniel Pinillos [Nottingham Forest]
Let go by Forest on Monday, Pinillos would strengthen an area [left-back] where Norwich will be left short if Mitchell Dijks doesn't re-sign. The 24-year-old suffered a serious injury during his first season in English football, but has featured regularly in 2017 and was extremely popular with the Forest faithful. Wolves have been linked.
Josh Scowen [Barnsley]
Scowen's Barnsley departure was confirmed on the same day as Watkins' and he too is not short of admirers, with Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday credited with an interest in January. Norwich have released Youssouf Mulumbu and 24-year-old Scowen could be the perfect replacement.
Conor McAleny [Everton]
Injuries have limited McAleny to just three senior appearances at Everton. Soon to be 25, the striker could perhaps do with a fresh start this summer. A recent loan spell at Oxford United, in which he scored 10 goals in 18 League One appearances, should put him back in the shop window, and Norwich could be a good fit with Kyle Lafferty departing and the future of Steven Naismith uncertain.
Which of the above would you like to see at Carrow Road?
