Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton is eyeing a reunion with one of his former Norwich City players, according to the Daily Mail.

Hughton is reportedly keen to add around six new players following the Seagulls' promotion to the Premier League, with Ryan Bennett, whose Norwich contract is not being renewed, being one.

Bennett featured regularly under the 58-year-old at Carrow Road, where he racked up 61 top-flight appearances.

And the 27-year-old's ability to operate at both right- and centre-back is said to appeal to his former mentor, who got a first-hand look at him during Brighton's 2-0 defeat at Norwich last month.

Bennett is one of seven first-teamers released following the Canaries' failure to gain promotion back to the Premier League, with John Ruddy, Sebastien Bassong and Youssouf Mulumbu also among those let go.

Brighton have already been linked with moves for a string of players, including Michael Morganella, Kevin Stewart, Lucas Leiva, Fraizer Campbell and Tommy Smith, since securing their Premier League place.
