Jack Vann has confirmed his departure from Leeds United on social media website Twitter.
Vann had spent 11 years at Leeds, but was not offered new terms - meaning his contract has now expired.
The news that the defender has not been offered a new deal has come as some surprise to Leeds fans, as he was very highly regarded member of the academy.
Vann was included in Leeds’ under-21 side when he was just 16, with hopes high for his future.
The youngster signed professional terms with Leeds last year, but has not done enough to earn a contract extension.
And Vann sent a message of thanks to Leeds staff on Twitter last night, confirming his exit.
After an amazing 11 years @LUFC it's time for a new chapter. A huge thanks to all coaches and staff past and present. Onwards and upwards— vanny_ (@vann_jack) May 14, 2017
Vann's message caused Leeds fans to express their surprise in reply to his exit.
@vann_jack Our loss will be someone else's gain..shocking decision..all the best jack— thomas banks (@ThomasBanks1985) May 14, 2017
Billy Whitehouse was another member of Leeds’ academy, who also confirmed his departure on social media yesterday (HITC).
Both Whitehouse and Vann leave Leeds having failed to make their first-team debuts.
