The Wigan Athletic striker would add much needed goals to Pedro Caixinha’s Rangers side.

It’s been a fairly miserable old season for Rangers supporters. After promotion back to the Scottish top flight, many Gers fans were hoping to see the revival of the classic Celtic/Rangers title battle.
However, Brendan Rodgers’ side have run away with the league this season, and Rangers have at times struggled, eventually parting ways with the man who got them promoted, Mark Warburton.
Quite why things haven’t clicked at Ibrox this season is difficult to put a finger on. There have been problems at the back, problems with playing style, and problems over a lack of plan b at times. However, one thing that does stick out is the amount of goals.
Rangers haven’t come close to scoring the amount of goals Celtic and Aberdeen have been firing in this season, and the club really should be targeting an outstanding goalscorer this summer.
So which players could Rangers target? Budget and finances are still a big hindrance at Ibrox, despite their return to the top flight, so the club will need to be careful not to target players who are going to break the bank.
General view of Ibrox – Rangers
One player the Gers should target is Wigan Athletic striker, Omar Bogle. The 24-year-old forward scored 19 goals in 30 appearances for Grimbsy Town this season, before joining Wigan Athletic in January.
Coming into a struggling side, Omar Bogle’s chances in a blue and white shirt have been fairly limited, especially considering his style doesn’t match the way Wigan have been lining up recently. However, the former Grimsby man has still managed three goals in eleven appearances.
With Wigan now relegated to League One, clubs will likely be sniffing around a potential deal for Omar Bogle, with his performances in the early parts of this season still lodged in the forefront of many people’s minds. With Rangers in need of goals, could they be tempted to try and bring the Wigan man to Ibrox?
