Tottenham Hotspur continue to hunt Chelsea down at the top of the Premier League table.

Toffees star Morgan Schneiderlin sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, and offered hope for Spurs in the title race, by suggesting that his team will make things very difficult for Chelsea when they visit Goodison Park on Sunday.

Tottenham currently sit in second position in the table, seven points adrift of the Blues, but they do have a game in hand over Antonio Conte’s side, as they travel to Crystal Palace tonight, looking to close the gap back to just four points.

And Schneiderlin, who joined Ronald Koeman’s side in January for a fee believed to be in the region of £20 million, told Sky Sports how the West Londoners should expect a tricky encounter on Merseyside at the weekend:

“Chelsea are a difficult team to beat but we are a match to anyone at home. When we play at our top at Goodison, no one can beat us. It will be hard for them on Sunday and we won’t let them breathe, or have any space on the pitch. Tottenham…are a very strong team and, if Chelsea slip, they will be there. Chelsea can’t afford to lose and let points slip because there’s a lion chasing them.”

The problem for the Lilywhites is that Conte’s side seem to have grown in strength and confidence over this past week, with wins over Spurs in the FA Cup and Southampton in the league, after potentially damaging results against Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

Three points against Sam Allardyce’s men would keep Tottenham well in the race, however, and they will be then hoping for Schneiderlin and co to upset Chelsea on Sunday, as the Premier League title race makes its’ way towards a thrilling climax.
