Tottenham Hotspur have made Hull City’s Harry Maguire their number one defensive target.

According to a report in the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are likely to move for Hull City’s Harry Maguire in the summer transfer window.

Spurs are keen to bring in another centre-back, with Kevin Wimmer set to depart in the coming months.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been linked with Burnley’s Michael Keane and Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson in recent times, but Maguire is said to be a more likely target.

Tottenham scouts have reportedly been watching Hull closely in recent times, and have been impressed by Maguire’s performances.

The powerful centre-back also has just 12 months remaining on his current contract at the KC Stadium, which makes him obtainable.

Although Hull are keen to keep hold of the centre-back, and offer of around £15 million would apparently be enough to tempt them to sell up.

Maguire is also believed to be on around £20,000-a-week at the moment, which means his wages would be no obstacle for a team with the spending power of Tottenham.

If Maguire was to move to White Hart Lane, he would be in competition with the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen for a first-team place.
