Darlington Nagbe can’t have done his chances of a move to Celtic any harm.

Portland Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe scored a sensational goal at the weekend to show why he is so highly regarded.

The USA international dribbled past two opponents before firing the ball across goal into the top corner, helping his team to  a MLS victory.

Nagbe was strongly linked with a move to Scottish champions Celtic in January, and was quoted in the Daily Record admitting he was interested in a deal.

The midfielder has not been downcast by the fact no agreement could be reached, instead he has continued to kick on.

He has two goals and two assists in seven MLS games this season, with his strike at the weekend the highlight of his season so far.

Nagbe, 26, is an interesting potential signing for Brendan Rodgers’ all-conquering Celtic side, and if the Scottish champions had scouts watching him at the weekend, they cannot fail to have been impressed.
