Adama Traore and Jores Okore were not happy with their treatment at Villa Park.
Aston Villa's Adama Traore looks dejected
One year ago today and Aston Villa’s dreadful season took another twist as two former players slammed the club.
It was a season that had recently been sealed as woeful with their relegation to the Championship, after going through two managers and seeing plenty of their players make the news for all the wrong reasons.
So, who were the players in question?
Adama Traore tore into Villa for his lack of playing time with a Facebook post, in which he claimed:
"They undervalue you, they make you feel like you're worth nothing, but you're working hard behind the scenes to prove to them how valuable you are and what they're missing out on."

It came after he barely featured in his debut season for the club, despite arriving for a sizeable fee from Barcelona.
He was not alone. Jores Okore was furious after claims from interim boss Eric Black that he had asked not to play for the club.
The Dane took to Twitter to insist that this was from the truth.

A year down the line and neither player remains. Adama has been one of the few shining lights of the season at struggling Middlesbrough. Okore went back to Denmark with FC Copenhagen, where he has had injury trouble again.
But Villa fans will hope that the days of such public criticism from players has now ended.
